OUR PASTOR

 

Senior Pastor Jimmy J Wilson, a native of Tylertown Mississippi and First Lady Alisa Young Wilson, a native of Smithdale, Mississippi, have been favored by God not only to be joined together in Holy Matrimony but also in ministry. Pastor Wilson accepted his call to ministry while under the leadership and guidance of Superintendent Acey Walker, Dillon Hill Church of God In Christ, Tylertown Mississippi.

 

In 2005, then Minister Jimmy J. Wilson, was contacted by the governing board of East Fernwood M.B. Church to conduct their services while they sought God for a pastor. After several Sunday's of conducting their services, he was approached again by the governing board to consider pastoring the church. After seeking God for direction and an answer, and after much consideration, he accepted the call to pastor. Having been reared in the Church of God In Christ and now being placed in a Baptist setting, he was able through the guidance of the Holy Ghost, to merge the two experiences, knowing that there is "One Lord, One Faith and One Baptism."

 

Soon after accepting the pastoral position, in 2006 Alisa was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was a devastating blow to the young couple, having just been placed in a leadership role and being the parents of three young children, how could God allow this to happen? But God had a plan. Through their ordeal, God prevailed. First Lady Wilson is now cancer free!

God has grown the church under Pastor Wilson's leadership from about 60 members to an active membership of 500 or more. Several auxiliaries have been birthed under his leadership.

Pastor Wilson’s spiritual covering is Bishop Paul S. Morton. Pastor and First Lady Wilson are the parents of three daughters, Jalisa, Jawanna, and Ja’Terrica.
